WHY    MOBILE     STORIES?

MOBILE STORIES is the name of a transnational school project dedicated to Citizen Journalism. Participants  come from Portugal, Spain, Italy, Germany, Poland,  Hungary,  Slovakia and Turkey. Our students will report facts and news about their communities through  MOBILE STORIES, which they will create by using their Mobile Phones, the PCs and the Internet. Students between the ages of 11 and 18 will be empowered to express their own voices about local issues in their communities.

Our project has the following mottos: Bring together what is apart/ From Local go Global. Several local communities which otherwise would remain apart will be brought together through this project. The transnational approach is fundamental since the project stresses the notion that, despite our regional characteristics, we all belong to a greater community where diversity is welcomed. Thus the second motto: From Local go Global.  When stereotypes about the North and the South  and nationalism   and xenophobia start spreading, the project can be an effective pro-active way of fighting them, promoting togetherness, tolerance, understanding, respect for each other and acceptance of diversity .

This project has no funding from any European organization and we rely on ourselves to carry it out.
